    April 14, 3:00 p.m.

    Ingalls has implemented nightly enhanced cleaning and sanitizing processes. Teams of Ingalls employees and one of Ingalls’ environmental cleaning contractors, continue to clean facilities and equipment throughout the shipyard. Between April 9-13 shipbuilders, along with our environmental cleaning contractors, deep-cleaned and sanitized hundreds of acres of work areas across the yard – in shops and production areas, aboard ships, and in office areas from the Metal Trades Academy to the Wetdock Building.

    Hundreds of hours were worked to help ensure the safest work spaces possible.

    April 9-13 Sanitization Recap:

        • 15 offsite locations were sanitized including: East Bank, Krebs Avenue offices, SUNPLEX engineering offices, all Ingalls and NAVY Singing River Island properties, the Engineering Design Center (EDC), UNO building in New Orleans
        • 700+ pieces of rolling stock were sanitized including: trucks, forklifts, mules, golf carts, manlifts, etc.
        • Approximately 4.2 Million square feet of covered production, warehouse, and office space as well as 170 trailers/multiplexes were sanitized on the west bank.
        • Office space sanitization included: carpet, floors, restrooms, tables, chairs desks, filing cabinet handles, and office doors.
