The Ingalls Apprentice School Programs are recognized as the backbone of a well-trained workforce. Every effort is made to provide each apprentice with opportunities to learn all the phases of a selected craft. This is done by job rotation, a system that allows the apprentice to perform in the various job assignments within the particular craft.
Ingalls Shipbuilding Apprentices earn competitive wages and receive comprehensive benefits packages from the time they begin the Apprentice Program.
Ingalls Shipbuilding is an equal opportunity employer and offers equal opportunities in employment to all applicants and employees without regard to an individual's protected status, including ethnicity, race, color, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, parental status, ancestry, disability, gender identity, veteran status, genetic information, or any other protected status.
Our Apprentice Programs range in length from two to four years of instruction and hands-on development. This allows our apprentices to receive an education, build work ethic, gain experience and develop into world-class journeymen of their crafts.
